More than 300 combined years of service to children and their families. That’s what The Barry Robinson Center team celebrated Wednesday, February 7, at its annual Employee Service Awards dinner.
Families often share how much they appreciate the employees who care for their children. Here’s a sample of what they say:
- “I’ve told them how amazing you all have been and the amazing difference you’ve all made with our child. I love how everyone from the dorm staff, therapists, doctors, administrators and cafeteria staff are all a major part of the care. They all love the kids and care for them.”
- “Really appreciated and enjoyed so many of the staff members we met this weekend. Everyone took time to visit with us, hear our story, share their story and just be sincere and kind.”
- “The staff at the Barry Robinson Center continues to impress us, and I just wanted to acknowledge their hard work.”
- “Thank you for all that you provide through The Barry Robinson Center to the families who your enter seeking help. It is professionals and facilities like the BRC that make the helpless feel hope again.”
- “I owe you and everyone at Barry Robinson an ongoing thank you for all you have done and the support/help you did with our daughter. I don’t know where we would be today, if you guys have not become a part of our lives. I am forever grateful for this.”

The 29 employees recognized represent departments across the organization. Education, nursing, nutrition, counseling, recreation, maintenance, finance and administration – employees in each department work together to provide a safe, nurturing, therapeutic environment that sets children and teens on the path to healing.
“The success we have achieved as an organization is due to the dedicated efforts of our staff,” said Greg Thomas, director of Human Resources. “ Tonight’s dinner is a small token of appreciation to those who have dedicated a significant part of their lives to improving the lives of children and their families.”
Employees received recognition for service in five-year increments, for five years of service all the way to some of the Center’s longest-serving employees at 35, 30 and 25 years.
