The Barry Robinson Center provides foster care and foster parent training. When a situation requires a child to be removed from his or her biological family, we can place that child with a stable, loving and nurturing foster parent until the child can return home again. Occasionally, when returning home is not possible, we can also assist the foster family through an adoption process.
Each child and each situation are different, which is why we take the time to get to know every child’s background and family situation. We work closely with our foster parents to ensure the right fit between foster family and child.
Foster parents receive extensive training to learn how to support children and meet their developmental needs. By providing a supportive and safe family structure, foster families give children an environment that offers an opportunity for normal childhood growth and development.
Besides training, we offer 24/7 support case management to our foster families. Our foster care team members are backed by the comprehensive resources of The Center, including counselors, physicians, dietitians and therapists.
Our foster care program goal is to return a child to his or her biological family when that is the goal of the child’s foster care service plan. Other youth may remain in a foster home and ultimately be adopted by the family. Many of the children placed into foster care through The Center return to their families, while others result in adoption.
If you are interested in sharing your heart and home with a foster child, we would love to speak with you. We need foster parents to provide loving, stable homes while families heal.
