Featuring nationally renowned speakers:

Jim Harris, Ed.D, MSW 

Jim Harris is the owner of Opportunities Consulting and theassociate director of the West Virginia Autism Training Center at Marshall University. He is well known for his engaging and humorous approach to talking about tough parenting subjects. Jim will offer strategies to support parents struggling with a child’s difficult behavior and insight into the connection between brain development and challenging behaviors.

Rachel Galanter, MPH

Rachel Galanter is the executive director of Exchange Family Center in Durham, North Carolina. She received the Donna J. Stone award by Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina in 2013. Audiences enjoy Rachel’s warm and engaging style as she shares her more than 25 years of experience working with families. Rachel will explain how to engage parents as partners using motivational interviewing techniques and tools.

The program will also include presentations on postpartum anxiety and depression, self-care for the professional, and opportunities for identifying resources and networking with colleagues.
