For more than 85 years, The Barry Robinson Center has been improving the lives of children and families. The Center offers a residential treatment program for boys and girls, ages 6-17, with mental health issues, including a dual diagnosis program for teens with substance use issues. The Center also offers community based services including an outpatient substance use program for teens and a treatment foster care program.
Children and teens from military-connected families will find a supportive community at The Center. Our treatment programs have been designed to help children and teens from military-connected families find understanding and acceptance, which contributes to their success in treatment. Many of our employees served in the military, and we are committed to training all employees in military lifestyle and culture.
The Center provides a holistic environment that sets children, teens and families on the path to healing. Our staff includes qualified and compassionate therapists, teachers, counselors, doctors, nurses and dietitians. Our 32-acre open college-like campus on the border of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia, combines modern residential facilities with several original colonial-style buildings dating to 1933. This combination makes it one of the most beautiful and unique residential treatment centers in the region. Our campus provides a safe and serene setting for programs designed to help youth and their families overcome emotional and behavioral difficulties.

I just wanted to write and say THANK YOU so much for helping me with my daughter and her transition to The Barry Robinson Center. Ever since my first talk with you on the phone, I continue to be impressed with the kindness and professionalism of you and all your co-workers. After having my first session with my daughter today, I am so fortunate that she has a place at The BRC and am hopeful that she will be able to get better.
